Code of Conduct & Mk1 Gym Etiquette
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN YOUR MEMBERSHIP BEING REVOKED.
As a member of MK1 Gym Ltd, we ask that you respect and uphold our code of conduct to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and high-standard training environment.
Opening Hours
Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 21:00 Saturday: 08:00 – 19:00 Sunday: 08:00 – 18:00
We will give as much notice as possible if opening hours need to change. On occasion, MK1 or certain areas of the gym may need to close for maintenance or improvements—notice will be given in advance wherever possible.
Personal Safety & Medical Responsibility
– Do not take part in physical exercise if you are knowingly medically unfit.
– Only use equipment you are confident and competent using. If in doubt, please speak to a member of the MK1 team.
– Exercise responsibly and with care at all times. Do not cause safety hazards to yourself or others.
– For health and safety reasons, crockery or glassware is not permitted in the changing rooms, gym floor, studio, sunbed area, or outdoor training zones.
– Emergency exits must only be used in the event of a fire. This includes side and back gates—misuse will result in immediate membership termination.
– All members and guests using the sunbeds must comply with the posted safety guidelines. Speak to a team member if you need further information.
Personal Belongings & Lost Property
– Use the lockers provided to store your personal items—do not leave belongings unattended.
– Lockers are emptied nightly. Any items found will be stored for up to 1 month before being disposed of if unclaimed.
– Please report all incidents of theft or accidents to a member of the MK1 team.
Dress Code & Phone Use
– Training shoes must be worn at all times in the gym, studio, and outdoor training areas. Other footwear is worn at your own risk.
– Appropriate workout clothing must be worn at all times.
– You are responsible for the safety of any personal devices used in the gym.
– Phones are not to be used in changing rooms, and taking photos or videos in this area is strictly prohibited. – Filming workouts is allowed, but please seek permission if others appear in frame.
Behaviour Expectations
– Members must behave in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.
– Abuse of equipment, staff, or fellow members will result in immediate termination of membership.
– Always respect gym property. This includes correct handling and returning of dumbbells, plates, and other equipment.
– 1st offence: Verbal/written warning
– 2nd offence: 3-day suspension
– 3rd offence: Membership termination
– Deliberate or negligent damage to MK1 property must be paid for by the member and will result in cancellation of membership.
– The use or possession of illegal substances on site is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent expulsion.
– Smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere on the premises (including the gym floor, studio, sunbed area, and outdoor training zones). Breach of this rule will result in permanent termination of membership.
Equipment & Facilities
– Equipment must be used correctly and treated with care.
– All equipment must be returned to its designated storage area after use. – Dropping of free weights is not permitted.
– 1st offence: Verbal/written warning
– 2nd offence: 3-day suspension
– 3rd offence: Membership termination
Parking, Entry & Exit
– Park only in designated parking bays.
– Disabled bays are for blue badge holders only—badges must be clearly displayed.
– MK1 Gym Ltd accepts no responsibility for vehicles left on site. Overnight parking is not permitted.
– Please enter and exit the premises respectfully. Disruptive behaviour or causing nuisance to Mill Lane residents will result in disciplinary action:
– 1st offence: Verbal/written warning – 2nd offence: 3-day suspension
– 3rd offence: Membership termination
– MK1 Gym Ltd is located adjacent to Mill Lane Stables and The Paddock. Under no circumstances should members engage with the stables, paddocks, or livestock. Breach of this rule will result in immediate and permanent termination of membership.
Pets
– No pets are allowed within MK1 Gym Ltd facilities, with the exception of registered guide dogs.
Complaints Procedure
If you have any concerns or complaints, please speak directly to a member of the MK1 Gym Ltd management team. We aim to resolve all issues promptly and professionally. Where an immediate resolution isn’t possible, the matter will be referred to the owners of MK1 Gym Ltd.
