Code of Conduct & Mk1 Gym Etiquette

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN YOUR MEMERSHIP BEING REVOKED 

As a member of MK1 Gym LTD we ask that you adhere to our code of conduct & help set the standards for etiquette in and around the gym. 

OPENING HOURS 

• Our opening hours are; 
  • Monday-Friday: 0600-2100
  • Saturday & Sunday: 0800-2000
  • If for any reason we need to change the opening hours for any reason we’ll give you as much notice as possible 
  • We may need to close MK1, or certain areas, from time to time for maintenance and improvements. We will try to keep such closure to a minimum and give you as much notice as possible 

PERSONAL SAFETY / MEDICAL 

• You must not take part in any physical exercise if you are knowingly medically unfit 
• You must only use the equipment that you are competent to use and must read all instructions prior to using such equipment. If in doubt, you must ask a member of the MK1 team
• It is your responsibility to engage in safe and sensible exercise at all times 
• Please use due care and attention at all times when using the fitness equipment. You must not knowingly cause a safety hazard to yourself or others 
• In the interest of health & safety, no crockery or glasses are allowed in the changing rooms, gym floor, studio, sunbed facility, outdoor exercise areas and any other areas surrounding the site 
• With the exemption of fire, the emergency exits are not to be used when leaving MK1 Gym Ltd. This includes, side and back cattle cates. Failure to comply will result in termination of membership 
• When using one of the MK1 sunbeds, there are specific health & safety guidelines that all members, including guests, must adhere to. Please ensure that all safety notices are read and understood. Please ask a MK1 team member for any further information if required 

Personal belongings/ lost property 

• Please use the lockers provided to store your personal belongings. Do not leave your belongings unattended 
• Lockers will be emptied every night upon closing. Any property found within MK1 will be stored for a period of up to 1 month and will be deemed lost property. After expiry of the 1-month period, the property will be disposed of if not claimed 
• You must assist with the prevention of theft and accidents by reporting all such incidents to the MK1 team 
• Training shoes must be worn at all time when using the gym, studio and outdoor exercise areas 
• Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times when using the gym, studio and outdoor exercise areas 
• If you use a smartphone, tablet or other device in MK1, or as part of your workout then you are responsible for its safety and security 
• You must refrain from using your phone in the changing rooms and the taking of photographs/ videos in this area is strictly forbidden 
• The use of recording equipment during your workout is acceptable, however, please ensure that other members permission is requested if in frame 

BEHAVIOUR 

• You must conduct yourself in a well-mannered fashion at all times 
• You must not under any circumstances abuse the facilities or equipment, any of our employees, or any other member in any instance, failure to comply will result in MK1 terminating your membership permanently 
• You must respect the facility and all equipment; this includes dumbbells and free weight plates. Failure to comply in the first instance will result in a verbal/written warning, in the second instance, a 3-day suspension, and in a third instance, termination of membership 
• Any deliberate or negligent damage to MK1 Gym Ltd property will be paid for by the member responsible and MK1 will terminate the members’ membership 
• MK1 Gym Ltd does not permit the use of any illegal substances on the premises. Failure to comply with this will result in the immediate and permanent termination of membership 
• MK1 Gym Ltd has a strict no smoking policy, both cigarettes and E-cigarettes are not permitted to be used within the gym or sunbed facility, studio space or outdoor exercise area. Failure to comply with this will result in the immediate and permanent termination of membership

EQUIPMENT/FACILITIES 

• There is to be no misuse of any of the facility, services or equipment
• All freestanding equipment must be returned to their appropriate storage area once used. Failure to comply in the first instance will result in a verbal/written warning, in the second instance, a 3-day suspension, and in a third instance, termination of membership 
• The dropping of free weights is strictly forbidden. Failure to comply in the first instance will result in a verbal/written warning, in the second instance, a 3-day suspension, and in a third instance, termination of membership 

PARKING/ EXITING & ENTERING SITE 

• Vehicles must be parked in the designated parking areas only 
• Members who have a disabled licence can only use the disabled bays if the license is displayed
• Vehicles are left at the owners risk & MK1 Gym Ltd doesn’t accept liability for your vehicle 
• Vehicles must not be left over night 
• Upon entering/exiting the site, please do so in an orderly fashion, failure to comply, or causing upset to the residents of Mill Lane will result in the first instance in a verbal/written warning, in the second instance, a 3-day suspension, and in a third instance, termination of membership 
• Please be aware that we are fortunate to be surrounded by an active livery to the rear of the building. Under no circumstances are members allowed to engage with any property or livestock associated with Mill Lane Stables or The Paddock, Mill Lane. Failure to comply will result in immediate and permanent termination of membership 

PETS 

• No pets, with the exception of guide dogs, are allowed in any area of MK1 Gym Ltd 

COMPLAINTS 

• If you have any queries or wish to make a complaint, please speak to a member of the MK1 Gym Ltd management team in the first instance 
  • We will endeavour to resolve all complaints at the time of the incident, however, in the event that this is not possible, complaints will be referred to the MK1 Gym Ltd owners
